...on my Butterfinger.

My stalking victim favorite food blogger, Siri, has been on a mad candy-making tear lately. I'm not a huge candy bar eater, but I've been known to lust after a Butterfinger after a rough week. So when she posted about making your own out of 3 lil' ingredients, I was in. All in.

This recipe is all over the internet and Pinterest, and everyone does it a little differently. This was what worked for me. Be prepared, there were chocolate fingers involved.

Mine didn't turn out as picture-perfect as her's, but they won rave reviews from the boys. One batch made a lot, so we stored them in the fridge in an airtight container and have been working our way through them over the last couple weeks or so. Little bite sized Butterfingers hit the spot after a long day...without the icky mystery ingredients! Trust me, the taste is a dead ringer.

Homemade Butterfingers

  • 3 cups candy corn
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  1. Place candy corn in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave until melted, stopping every 20-30 seconds to stir. Once melted, immediately add the peanut butter and combine well. This takes a little elbow grease! Working quickly, spread evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Pop in the fridge and allow to harden for about an hour. Allow to soften slightly and cut into mini candy bar-sized rectangles. I didn't let it soften a bit, and I nearly broke the handle off my knife trying to cut through it. A little soft is much more manageable.
  3. Melt the chocolate in the microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring frequently. Dip the candy in the melted chocolate until coated, then set on wax paper to cool and harden.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place. Enjoy!
Don't judge. They were deliciously messy.
