I wanted to be a ballerina when I was a little girl. Most little girls probably share that dream. I had tutu-sporting teddy bears. I wore ballet flats long before they were trendy. I took ill-fated dance classes and wore my hair in a tight bun. My grandma would take me to the San Diego Ballet's Nutcracker and I would think "Yes! Yes!" Oh, to be that flexible. But short legs and a lack of coordination forced me to consider a more realistic career choice.
A life lived without the epitome of grace and femininity just doesn't seem fair. Lucky for me, it's possible to live vicariously through buns, legwarmers and flats.
During a recent Pinterest marathon, I came across a beautiful photo of a ballerina, which led to the search for more. And more. Which led to this post.
Childhood dreams relived thanks to the wonder that is Pinterest. Enjoy.
Aw, so beautiful! You're right, I think most little girls dream of this! Pretty image choices! Thanks for linking up! :)
ReplyDeletei love the perfect bun shot. and the pinks are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteAW! I had the same dream too, but was blessed with no coordination as well...oh, to be so flexible! Maybe if I put on the tutu...? Wishful thinking!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI used to have ballet posters all over my room and even made it to one year of pointe class, but alas, I was never good. Loved the pictures!!! I am visiting from Two Thirty-Five Designs.
