Happy Friday, friends! It was only a 4-day week, but this old gal needs a break. Three days in, I am already exhausted by this semester. That may have something to do with getting assigned homework on the first day, or more likely, the harsh weather we have been experiencing. Probably a little of both. We must have really annoyed Mother Nature. My point is: The weekend is a welcome visitor.
I noticed a lot of the photos on my camera were food related this week. Subzero temps certainly seem to encourage carb-loading. And hibernation. I'm still nursing a cold, so Husband was kind enough to take on Kiddo duty this morning and give me a much needed break. It's good for him to be reminded of the joy that is getting a 12-year old ready for school in the dead of winter. I wonder if I can teach Mario's class for him next week and stay at a posh hotel while he tries to wake a sleeping bear at 6a while it is still pitch black outside. That is a sacrifice I am definitely willing to make. You know, for the greater good.
Clockwise from top left:
- First day of classes! Last semester! Woot! I actually wish I felt like that on the inside. Could winter break last just one more week? Pretty please? I wore my new owl sweater and sported a red, raw nose. Thanks to the wonder that is photo filters, you were spared that bit of sexiness.
- That's it. I am only applying to grad schools south of the Mason-Dixon line. I thought my ears were going to snap off walking the short distance between my class and my car. I like wearing earrings, so that would have been unfortunate.
- Hello, dill-flavored Triscuits. You want to go and get a little cheese sometime? These are my newest and best study partners. Get in my belly! And yes, I often eat while reading about bacteria. I ain't afraid.
- A cupcake and coffee is a perfectly legitimate big girl breakfast. As long as it is consumed before Kiddo gets up and I have to explain myself and why the rules are different for him.
- I can't get enough of this face. The memory card on my new camera already has 1000+ pics on it...and at least 900 are of this young man. He is my furry little muse.
Yay for it being your last semester! So exciting. :)
ReplyDeleteLove cupcakes and coffee! I have the same problem explaining it to my daughter! Oh well it's a mama thing :)

ReplyDeleteDill flavoured Triscuits? That sounds delicious! I think I'll have to go see if I can find some.

ReplyDeleteI have never tried the dill Triscuits but I fell in love with the sweet chili ones. I could eat an entire box in one sitting, if I let myself!
