These days, there is no shortage of lovely things when I need them most. Especially since Pinterest came into my life. Bad day? With one click I can surround myself with aesthetically pleasing photographs and pretend I live in a utopia full of pretty pink things, glittering lights, and baby animals. In honor of the day of love, here are 7 Lovely Things that strike my fancy.
1. Elbow patches. I have always loved them on sweaters (they make me feel very studious). Now they are everywhere and I can't get enough. I will still be wearing this trend long after it has lost its trendiness. Oh, and hearts? Yes, please! [Rue 21] 2. Cupcakes. I could make cupcakes every day. Not even for eating...for the pleasure of it. I love this trend of putting a little surprise in the center. How pretty are these heart cupcakes?! The tutorial that goes with this photo is not in English, but I found a great one here. [source] 3. A good book. Neglecting my love of books over the last couple years was such a bummer. There should always be a little room for literature in our lives. I consider losing myself in an excellent read to be one of life's joys. [source] 4. Vintage Pyrex. The colors. The patterns. The functionality (I use mine almost every day). I love everything about them. I'm so glad I picked up a piece one day and never looked back. [source] 5. A hot drink. Coffee (decaf for me), cocoa, a good tea...it doesn't matter. A mug of warmth can make my blah mood brighter and calm my frazzled nerves. I love nothing more than to curl up in a cozy sweater with a hot beverage while I blog, read, study, etc. [source] 6. Paint chip art. Where has this been all my life? Also, how do you swipe that many from Home Depot without raising suspicion? I'm about to find out... [Paint Chip Heart Art by IHeart Organizing] 7. Antique Mason jars. Especially the blue ones. I can't help but pick them up here and there. I have a small collection on my kitchen window, and when the morning light hits them, I go to my happy place. [source]
